The Ninja 250R’s aerodynamic bodywork and styling looks remarkably similar to the ZX-6R and ZX-10R, and that is purely not coincidental. There’s no “250” emblem on this big little 250, and that’s no mistake either. 2234 posts · Joined 2018. #12 · Apr 2, 2020. Yeah I had a 05' Ninja 250 that had 20k miles on it and spent a good 80% of its life at 8-10K rpm's, had no issues or abnormal noises at all. On the 400 I only pay attention once it hits redline to either shift or let off it some in top gear (rarely ever) Reply.
Same as in any car but higher numbers since the idle is higher and the rev limit is higher, but proportionally it's similar. A 400 makes only about 15-16 hp at 4000 rpm. At 6000 rpm it's about 26-28 hp. At 9500 to 12000 it's about 44-47. Ride it how you want to, there's no right or wrong, just depends on what you're trying to do.
The ninja 400 doesnt make that much more power than your R3. I think it makes like 5-6 more hp if that and most small bikes suffer from the same disadvantages/faults. Id get the Ninja 650. I have an 01 SV650 along with my FZ. I think the combo offers a good variety in my riding.
Over revving the motor for a second won’t hurt it either. The engine could probably handle 15-20k rpm but it wouldn’t last that long. The rev limit is just there to prolong the life of the motor. A split second isn’t going to hurt anything. Even several seconds. 1xUY.
